Come From Away is the vision of Irene Sankoff and David Hein, the husband-and-wife duo behind the book that led to the musical adaptation. As part of their research, the storytellers visited Gander on the 10th anniversary of 9/11 to meet with locals and even some of the "plane people" who had returned to rekindle the friendships built during the crisis.
