From the moment of its creation in the late 1900s, Les Misérables has gone from an only-local theater classic found in Paris, France to one of the most highly-awarded and fan favorite shows in the world. Over the past 40 years that the play has been ongoing, Les Misérables has toured in 22 different languages, in 53 countries, and has been drawing in more and more theatergoers in each locale visited.
In January, the musical’s tour brings it to a new location in Cincinnati, where Les Mis will be held in Procter & Gamble Hall at Aronoff Center on Thursday 16th January 2025. Procter & Gamble Hall at Aronoff Center was purposefully created and constructed as the ultimate entertainment venue of Cincinnati, containing well-executed interior, from stage to seats, that is large enough to hold a show of this standard, while also having suitable amenities that can be found inside the venue.
Les Misérables revolves around the life of Jean Valjean, an ex-convict desperately wanting to start anew after he gets away from the law. Jean Valjean's entire journey, and his ultimate fate, are put on sung-through entirely from the opening number to the finish of the musical. Les Mis being lyricized from beginning to end is a storytelling tactic that the play has over other known West End productions, and is the primary cause why every moment and act doesn’t miss a beat in conveying utmost feeling in every sentence or note sung.
The musical is creatively executed and as a result of this style, Les Misérables is also overflowing with unforgettable ballads and anthems. Interestingly, in the face of the large number of numbers that can be witnessed in this grand musical, every single role in the stage adaptation is given their own spotlight, with each individual number showing the vocal range of each actor. No one who has watched a showing of Les Mis can stop thinking about Fantine’s “I Dreamed A Dream”, which carries with it a powerful longing and has been used countlessly by famous artists in modern TV. “Bring Him Home” also emotionally creates one of the musical's best moments, subtly showing us the redemption of Jean Valjean’s character in only one totally excellent performance.
This stunning play will only be showing in Procter & Gamble Hall at Aronoff Center, Cincinnati for a limited time and on Thursday 16th January 2025; seats are currently available for purchase via our ticketing partner by using the links that can be found above this page.
